The insurance typically covers medical expenses up to €2.5 million, emergency repatriation, personal accident benefits, limited dental and physiotherapy treatments, counselling support, and personal liability up to €5 million. It also allows short leisure trips within Europe during your study period.
Please note: Coverage details may vary based on the type of policy you choose. Terms and conditions apply — including exclusions for pre-existing medical conditions, certain activities, and COVID-19-related claims. Always review your policy document carefully before purchase.
For Medicover / International Student Accident And Repatriation (Insurer: Chubb European Group SE) Policies:
Should you need emergency medical assistance or in-patient hospital treatment, contact Chubb Assistance Hotline: (24/7, 365 days) +353 (0) 1 440 1762.
If you wish to make a claim for Medical Expenses, you can submit your claim online at www.chubbclaims.ie.
Please review the relevant Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) before submitting your claim. These documents contain key benefits and exclusions of your policy. Please remember depending on what plan you have chosen there may be an excess applicable of up to €200.00. This means that any claim under this amount will not be covered.

Depending on the policy that you have chosen, it may be possible to attend treatment in private hospital. For Medicover Policies, please see your Insurance Product Information Document and Policy Wording for full policy terms and conditions. For Irish Life Health Study in Ireland Policies, please refer to the Irish Life claims team before seeking any private hospital treatment.
If you avail of any of our Medicover products and you wish to visit a GP in relation to an unforeseen accident or illness, you can visit any GP in your local area. You must pay for the medical expenses yourself, and claim back by visiting www.chubbclaims.ie. You can upload any relevant receipts/invoices you have online for the insurer to review your claim.
Please note the policy does not cover any medical expenses relating to pre-existing conditions or general health check-ups. For more information, please refer to your policy documentation for full policy terms and conditions.
If you require emergency treatment, and the expenses were greater than you can afford to pay yourself (above €250.00) you can contact the medical emergency helpline (01 4401762).
Please note where an excess applies on your policy, you will be responsible to cover the expenses relating to this excess, even if your claim is covered.
If you avail of our Study in Ireland, Accident and Repatriation product you can download the Irish life health app from the app store where you will find information on how to submit your claim. Alternatively you can email Irish life health at heretohelp@irishlifehealth.ie for further assistance.
If you have changed the dates of travel from the dates that are shown on your policy certificate, please email studyandprotect@arachas.ie with your policy certificate number, full name, the revised dates of travel and the reason for the change. One of our team will then be able to assist and advise further
